With Panasonic, you can choose from 3 different types of Home Theaters that match your preference and room. Panasonic SC-PT770 Overview; High Quality Sound: The SC-PT770 uses front and center Bamboo Cone Speakers and a Kelton Subwoofer for crisp, clear mid- and high-frequency ranges and powerful, deep bass. A rigid, low-density bamboo material used in the fron and center speaker's cones helps achieve a clean, responseive sound. Vocals are pure and clear and dialog is crisp and easy to understand. The Kelton Type Subwoofer has an internal structure that is divided into two completely sealed spaces. The drive unit that is mounted to the space in the back causes the air in the front space to vibrate. This causes and Acoustic Filter effect in the front space to absorb unwanted noise while also vibrating the Passive Radiators. This achieves highly robust, reverberating bass sounds. Built-in Dolby Digital and DTS Decoder renders movie-theater-like sound while Home Theater Mode produces a total ouput power of 1000W of High Clarity Sound. Easy to Use: The built-in Universal Dock for iPod gives you a great new way to enjoy music and video3. Just slip your iPod into the cradle and enjoy. The dock charges your iPod , allows you to use the home theater remote to control the iPod , has on-screen audio menus, and also plays back iPod video. The SC-PT770 includes the front to rear wireless speakers, and a High Speed 5-DVD/CD changer with Multi-format Plaback: DVD-Video, DVD-RAM, DVD-RW, DVD-R, +R, +RW, CD, CD-R/RW, Video CD, SVCD, WMA, MP3, and JPEG. Environmentally Friendly: Add to this feature set a Smart Setup mode with Auto Speaker Setup and and Energy Star compliance, Low Power consumption for Stand-by (0.1W), and you have an ideal Home Theater solution. ....read more

This was a pretty good surround system. The only thing upsetting is no reception of radio. I asked for assistance, but was only told to check position of antennae. Anyone else have this problem?, or any other suggestions out there?

I have done a lot of research and comparisons before I purchased my home theater system. Because I already had a 50″ Panasonic Plasma screen, I bought this for the Viera Link feature so I could sync the remotes; I love how easy this was. The whole set-up of the system was easy. For the money, you can’t buy anything better with an amazing sound quality.

    3. Probably a good buy for the price but……

This product was fairly easy to assemble. The problem is the instruction booklet on how to operate it is VERY difficult to understand and confusing. The unit is on a shelf beneath my DirecTv receiver, therefore I have to lay on the floor to be able to see the tiny, tiny lights. The remote is totally user unfriendly and again, I have to look closely for different buttons that are place awkwardly, such as the tiny mute button is situated by other tiny buttons. This is bad for me as I mute all commercials and in the process I usually hit a button that changes something else. It would work for the fingers of a small child. There are some features that I still haven’t figured out as the booklet is not clear. The wireless speakers only work half the time and then sometimes there is just static. I should have not expected much for that price and I will probably buy a better unit. The old story of ‘you get what you pay for’. I should have learned from the reviews on Amazon that warned me but I didn’t, my fault.

Good day folks, just read the one sheet that has the surround sound system speaker layout on it and you can pretty much expect to get most of the install correct the first time around. I enjoy the sub, right front and left front tower/satellite speakers, and the small rear speakers as well. The “WIRELESS” speakers ARE NOT “WIRE-LESS”…more like “TOTALLY WIRED” so don’t be fooled by some idea that you are gonna just hang two wireless speakers up …to good to be true as far as this feature is concerned. All my speakers do work and work well. The DVD player is a 5 disc holder and yes all CD’s work and they LOOK like HD (not true HD 1080p) but they look better than they would on just a DVD player that does not have the picture upgrade feature. The connection in the rear of the receiver are only for connecting the DVD player to your Television and the other connection is the one that comes from your TV’s AUDIO-out and to the rear of the Panasonic receiver. NOTE: the following is the best set up for maximum use of this system, which I have set up in my place: turn your TV on, Turn your Panasonic receiver on and go through the automatic setup if you have a Panasonic compatible tv or go through the manual setup as I had to since I have a Vizio 32″ best in its class, select 16:9 as your tv ratio..REMEMBER 16:9…ok…16:9, after your receiver is happy with your setup, On your Panasonic remote select DVD (wait for about 2 min. or until the “Reading Disc” message is no longer on your Tv and your receiver will say 0:0). Now select the setup/ ch select button at the bottom left of the remote. Select AUDIO. you want all your audio to say bit and not PCM (bit should already be selected as it will be highlighted in a blue color). Now go to DYNAMIC..this is not set but will allow you to maximize your overall sound on your surround sound…so go to DYNAMIC MODE and use your remote and touch the “right” Arrow to select ON as dynamic is OFF by default….between you directional arrows on your remote hit “OK” to select the “ON” next Left arrow over and you will notice the “ON” is now highlight in blue…your Dynamic Mode is now “ON”..:)..Hook an optical cable from the back of your TV to your receiver for audio for all of your devices that you currently have connected to your TV…ex..I have xbox 360, xbox Hd DVD player, PS 2, and now the Panasonic Receiver/Dvd Player with an HDMI…My Xbox 360 is connected to my tv in the HDMI 2 and my Panasonic Receiver/Dvd player is connected to my HDMI 1 and my xbox 360 HD DVD player is connected to my xbox 360..I have the layout my Panasonic Surround sound system just about as exact as the diagram layout shows us. RECOMMENDATION: The speaker wires are all color coded and have labeling stickers in the plastic bag with the equipment manual. Ok, so I recommend taking the speakers one by one and attach the proper colored wire to its appropriate speaker..now look at the surround sound diagram and put your speakers flat on the floor near to where they will likely be setup. now take one wire at a time and run that one wire through the back of your tv stand and now plug that one wire into the back of your panasonic receiver and label the wire with the appropriate sticker. If you can use a piece of duck tape or a zip tie that is designed for lableling, I would label that one wire at the back of your tv stand also..since you will have a bunch of wires at the back of the tv stand, you will want to identify what wire is what in all that mess. Next do the same for the next speaker wire…last…WATCH the movie TWISTER on a sound of about 28 to 30 (it goes to 50) and you will probably have someone watching the movie with you to please LOWER THE VOLUME..LOL…”OK…I’d be more than happy to have to lower this BEAST!!” oh yeah..make sure your tv AUDIO is set on DOLBY Digital…and on your receiver you will have to press…EXT IN and select either AUX or D-IN TV(digital in tv)..If your audio out on your tv says AUX then you will likely need your Panasonic receiver on AUX…if the audio out on your TV does not say aux then you will likely set your receiver to D-IN…Remember OPTICAL OUT will have a red laser light at the none connected end of the optical cord if it the device is on..if you do not see a red light then maybe the connection came loose or the cord may be damaged…HDMI out of the Receiver is only for your Panasonic DVD player…but you can use any of the receiver/DVD players connections that is labeled as “OUT” to your tv for playing a lower quality DVD picture…OPTICAL for AUDIO and HDMI for Video…SET up the AUDIO from the Panansonic remote and Set up Dolby Digital from your TV remote…

pretty easy to use although I have to buy another cable to use surround sound to use for the TV all the time but overall it’s great.

Too Many Remotes Not Enough Connections
      Rating:4 out of 5 stars
The sound quality is good for the price. I wish that there were more HDMI connections for the receiver, and I was surprised the receiver would not play Bluray. I had to connect another Bluray player and use an additional remote controller. I like the wireless speaker set-up.

      Poor quality Faulty Wireless Unit
      Rating:2 out of 5 stars
THe sound isa OK except the Wireless unit was faulty

The sound from the rear speakers is very weak giving a poor surround sound

There is no way to increase volume at rear speakers

Whats cheap is cheap for a reason.. Not recommended

Bought 2 – one’s rear wireless went out
      Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I purchased 2 of these systems. I had previous experience with Panasonic wireless rear home theater system. One I bought for second large screen TV at my home. The other I bought for use at condominium at beach. Hooked home system up on Dec 27 – no problem and works great. Took the other system to beach on Dec 31 and hooked up on Jan 1 – worked fine until wireless unit stopped functioning (after some loud buzzing sounds). Panasonic wanted me to take entire unit to “service center” – about hour away. I’m going to see if I can’t just exchange wireless rear transmitter and receiver. If I can, then both will be working fine.

    10. Great Product
      Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Awesome super fast FREE shipping from Amazon, received it in a couple of days! Works exactly as described. No problem with the rear speakers, they are wired to the wireless receiver as described. Nice not to have wires running to the back of the room. Beautiful upconverted picture and it sounds great. Easy to set up and utilize the features. If you need a lot of HDMI inputs you are better to look at another system.

      Rating:4 out of 5 stars
The shipping was super fast and the packaging was very good. Easy to assemble the parts and get started. My main complaint is with the wireless connection between the main unit and the remote unit which drives the rear speakers. The radio connection is weak, susceptable to cutting in and out even from people getting in the line of sight. The most likely culprit is the placement of the radio module on the main unit in the rear, which then has much of the main unit blocking the radio signal. Stack anything on top of the main unit and the rear speakers cut in and out so much as to make them worthless.

I received this system for Christmas and I love it. It was easy to set up, it took me about 30 minutes. They have a toll free number to call if you need help with the set up. The wireless speakers work very well. It has a smart sound set up feature where you put a microphone in the area you will be sitting and it adjust the speaker for you, although you can manual adjust the speakers if you like. I was able to input sound from my cable box so that my regular TV shows have surround sound. I watched a movie last night and I was amazed by how great it sounded. It is definately worth the money.

This was a Christmas present for my husband. He is very pleased with the sound and it was easy to set up. Although I paid $309.99 for this system and paid for shiping with Amazon. Check with Tigerdirect. They had the system at $249.99 with free shipping. The total with tax from Tigerdirect was $290.83.

I was looking for an inexpensive system to try with my big TV. I love it. Great sound on the DVDs and Blu-Ray. We get the most use out of the iPod dock. Sound through our cable is not great, but working on improving the connection. I think this is more due to the cables I used.
